  Research Interests

Dr. Mogayzel’s research focuses of the regulation of cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene. Gaining a better knowledge of the regulatory elements that control CFTR expression will aid in understanding the pathogenesis of cystic fibrosis (CF) and could aid in designing more effective therapies. Dr. Mogayzel is also involved in clinical trials involving the development of new therapeutics for CF. He has been studying the natural history of lung disease in young children with CF using infant pulmonary function testing. Recently, Dr. Mogayzel has been investigating the role of mucociliary clearance in lung function.
